Notes on Black colour range (from Thompson Workbook)
> 1990 Grisaille Black: Is technically a deep transparent black. If applied thin or over fired, or ground thin and re-fired, it takes on a dark transparent blue look. This black is recommended as a base enamel for the grisaille technique
> 1995 Black: Is a very opaque black, but does not have the intensity or depth of black as 1990 Grisaille Black or 1996 Black
> 1996 Black: Is technically a deep transparent black. If applied thin or over fired, or ground thin and re-fired, it takes on a dark transparent green look. It leaves no bluish cast if fired thinly or over fired
> 1997 Crackle Base Black: Is a low expansion black used as a dark undercoat for the crackle technique when liquid form water base enamels are used for the second coat
