Project X Light Bronze Base Metal Clay is a reformulated light bronze clay designed for jewellery makers and metal clay artists who want consistent colour, good working time, and predictable firing results. Its lighter bronze tone makes it especially suitable for fine jewellery, decorative components, and detailed work where a brighter bronze finish is desired.

The clay remains workable for extended periods, allowing time for shaping, carving, and refining details without drying too quickly. It captures texture cleanly, carves easily once dry, and fires to a strong, durable light bronze with a consistent shrinkage rate.

After firing, the finished metal can be polished to a smooth, attractive surface or further finished with patinas, making it suitable for both wearable jewellery and decorative applications.

Firing Instructions

• Firing Method: Kiln firing (two-stage process)
• Phase 1: Place on steel mesh in hot or cold kiln. Ramp full speed to 426 °C and hold for 10 minutes
• Phase 2: Fire in activated carbon within a stainless steel container. Ramp full speed to 871 °C and hold for 1 hour
• Cooling: Allow to cool fully in carbon
